Sales Director, Books/Education | US – Remote

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

KGL is a strategic partner for book and educational publishers and helps organizations improve performance through end to end support of their print and digital products. 

Job Summary:

The Sales Director, Books/Education is a critical role responsible for driving the growth of our solutions for book and education publishers. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and results-driven sales professional with a passion for developing and delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of organizations.

The Sales Director is responsible for identifying and closing new business, driving revenue, and bringing in new opportunities. The candidate will actively participate in client meetings, pitches and presentations, RFPs, and successfully complete the sales process.

Work is 100% remote and occasional travel is required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Implementing sales strategy for our book and education solutions, including identifying new opportunities, and creating go-to-market initiatives.

  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers, leveraging your network and expertise to generate new business and grow existing accounts.

  • Collaborating with product development and marketing teams to ensure that our solutions remain competitive and relevant in an ever-changing market.

  • Providing regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis to your manager and other key stakeholders.

  • Staying up to date on industry trends and best practices, sharing insights and knowledge with the wider organization to drive continuous improvement.

  • Acting as the point of contact for all sales-related inquiries and manage the sales process from start to finish.

  • Creating and participate in presentations, RFP responses, and work with marketing to create and update marketing collateral.

  • Meeting agreed upon targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives. 

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of the books/education publishing market and an understanding of the challenges faced by organizations in this space.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Driven and results-oriented approach, with a passion for developing and delivering innovative solutions.

  • Ability to think strategically and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of product development life cycle.

  • Ability to manage time well and work independently.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced degree a plus.
