Peer Review Week 2023

KGL Explores the Future of Publishing

Peer Review Week is an annual event to celebrate the value of peer review that brings together scholarly communication stakeholders, including academic publishers, associations, institutions, and researchers. This year’s theme is Peer Review and The Future of Publishing and takes place around the world during the week of September 25-29.

KGL Editorial interviewed journal editors and publishing experts on the unique aspects they consider in their peer review process, including expanding the reviewer pool, diversifying the editorial board, incentives, challenges, and innovations. Interviews were conducted with:

Jeremy Chapman, Editor in Chief, Transplantation and Transplantation Direct, The Transplantation Society
Dr. Leonard Jack, Jr., Editor in Chief, Preventing Chronic Disease, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Distinguished Research Consultant
Zara Manwaring, Managing Editor, Portland Press, The Biochemical Society
